It was the third day of the lunar new year.We started off from Jiangcheng and drove to Luchun County It is about one hundred and fifty kilometers between these two places.
All the way long,we took photos.I have visited so many county towns.but seldom have I seen a town like Luchun County Town that still preserves a rich ethnic characteristic.

The county town is a very small one with a population of two hundred thousand people, among them,Hani and some other ethnic groups take more than 98%.As Hani people are the most populous,so Hani Language becomes the "official language",as we can see most people speak Hani Language everywhere in the county town
We visited a Hani village called Chanong Most houses there are tile—roofed, with earth—brick walls and wooden columns.People have antithetical couplets and the"Door Deity"pictures on their doors. It is evident.the Hani villagers there are greatly influenced by Han culture Seeing the extending terraced fields surrounding us,we soon realized that We were also in the "Terraced Field Culture".
When talking about Hani’s terraced fields, people will first mention Yuanyang County. But,in fact, the largest and the best terraced fields are in Luchun County, which is one hundred kilometers south of Yuanyang However, since it is more remote, the terraced fields in Luchun are hardly known to outside people.
Hani people have worked for so many years and so many generations,so they have thoroughly transformed those mountains into a unique and artistic terraced field which could be considered a great wonder If we can realize the hardship they have endured and underst and the perfect skills they have applied,we will acclaim the fields as Hani people’s cry stal of hard—working and wisdom, and naturally conclude that the fields have embodied all Hani people's long history and their persistent aspiration.
