Guoqing Township, located in the north of the Jiangcheng County Town,is a place where Yi Nationality people live Today the Yi people there were going to have a colourful "Pouch Throwing" celebration,so we went there.
The pouch throwing square was on a gentle mountain slope, surrounded by forests.
In the simple shed by the road to the square, people were selling all kinds of local—flavour food, including cold rice noodles, cooked wild vegetables and stewed beef and soup.
There was a formal opening ceremony before the pouch throwing activity, the collective performance given by each village Although their performance was not up to the standard, they performed cOnscientiOusly. Then came the Lusheng Dance.
After that the pouch throwing began.AndThere were top whipping competition and swing playing contest. All these performances and celebrations deeply impressed me.
I can see they are not rich and live in a simple way, however they have a happy life.
Sixty kilometers east of the Jiangcheng County Town, there is a place called Qushui Town ship.It borders on both Laos and Viet Nam.But what is the most unique here is its tropical rain forests on the serene Tuka River. Many wild animals come and go in the forests, such us tigers.1eopards,deer and muntjacs.
However.the rain forest on the Tuka River is dwindling because the local farms have been extending their rubber tree planting as rubber is getting more profitable on the international market 1 wonder if the tropical rain forest will disappear in the future.
At the sun—setting time,we arrived at Tuka River Village.a Dai Nationality village at the juncture of Tuka River and Lixian River, which has dozens of house holds The two rivers run gently beside the village. The Dai style bamboo
houses are sheltered under high banyan trees.0n the river beach, some children are frolicking. What a peaceful idyllic scene!According to the legend, the last empress of the xishuanbanna Kingdom came from this pastoral village.
