In 1955，the government rescinded Yanxing County which formerly had jurisdiction over the four salt fields because of the gradual decline of the salt—producing industry in the area．The places of the county were put under the administration of the two adjacent counties．Hence，Black Well Town，the former county town and administration place，was reduced to a small town under Lufeng County，thus completing its more than one thousand year’s glorious history．However，even today，when we look at those magnificent Ming or Qing style buildings and colourful civilian houses，we carl easily recall its heritage and the glory of its old days．
The people of Black Well Town，who，of course，felt deeply lost as their town,their home land,had been disfavoured，still live in those old buildings．
But they are now getting more tranquil and happy—go—lucky，holding themselves aloof from outside world．They are fond of cards playing at present．On the street pavement．you can see so many people old and young,men and women are quietly playing cards．It is said not only is an old man of ninety a master-hand in cards—playing，but a nine-year—oldboy is in no way any inferior in the leisure game.
