After going around for while at Kunming's Tea wholesale area, I met many people in the tea business thanks to my godmom. I found that many people who are in the tea business are so much more relax, easy going. Being exposed to the usual fast paced life in other industries, it is an eye opener to see another business culture altogether in the tea business. A culture that appreciates sincerity and honesty to the highest level. A culture which exudes serenity and elegance.
In tea it's all about trust, if someone trust you they will take your word and buy the tea. If you can't build that trust then there is no business but the current market now still lack of credibility thus people that are not trustworthy still thrives with market prices rocketing flooded with fake puer tea. Those who are in the business for long knows the rules of the game which are sincerity and trust. For example, puer tea is somewhat a mysterious product in the market right now as there is no standard way of determining the age of a puer tea, A may say 10 years, B may say 15 years and for that reason it attracts many people to it. The price difference between A and B is thousands dollars per piece thus it really depends on the seller. Many of those that are in the business for long have strong values thus remains credible to their group of customers.
During my 1 month stay in Kunming, I have the opportunity to meet some foreigners who are interested in puer tea but has no idea what it is about. I hope to share what I have learn to those who have difficulty to read chinese and learn more about the benefits of puer tea.
